These are Japanese traditional small scissors, 'nigiri-basami'. These type of scissors have been used for sewing work from Edo Priod( 1603-1867).

It is made with elaborate 40 hand work processes.
It has excellent edge, and has also very convenient form. Thumb and forefinger can be used with holding it, and it is very convenient for sewing and embroidery.

We had these scissors on our website made by Fujiwara san from approx 10 years ago.
Fujiwara san, craftsman of scissors have been making these type of scissors all his life. This time he wrote us that these scissors will be his last work. He decided to retire from scissors making due to his age.

There are many handy scissors around but once you use his scissors, you will know how different his scissors are-so sharp and so handy. How about trying these scissors for your sewing work?
