This is a bride's vintage Hon
Furisode with dynamic phoenix, folding fan, 'Kiri'(paulownia ) and 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) pattern, which is dyed boldly.
Shibori(tie-dye) and embroidery work are partially added on vibrant part of the pattern.
Bottom is lightly padded, and it is worn with the bottom trailing along the floor.
Textile is soft silk.
Hiyoku (additional layer) is attached.
It has five kamon(family crest) dyed out.
Embroidery threads are coming loose in places. (K.L)
It has a tear, 2cm(0.78in), at upper part on front of the left sleeve.
As fabric seems weak, the tear might spread. (H)
Right side seam is coming loose. (E)
It has fine stains and peeling of gold glazing in large area, as well as overall slight discoloration and patinas.
Please see photos for details.
Because of its old age, it has some flaws, but it is still a very lovely vintage item as a display or material purpose!
