This is a vintage
Maru obi with a jigami(paper cut of shape of fan), waterside scenery, willow, 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) and botan(peony) pattern, which is dyed.
The rough touch and pale color are rustic and tasteful.
The textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The pattern are on two places of each side of the 'tare-saki'(tare end) and 'otaiko'(the square bow), four places of the 'maegara'(the front design).
The 'te-saki'(one end) has the pattern only on the right side.
One of the pattern on the otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from the kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with the hikinuki style.
There is discoloration in the base due to its age. It is prominently discolored in the plain part of the belt part.(C)
There are patches of patina and stains on the 'otaiko'(the square bow) and 'maegara'(the front design) as you can see in the figure.(refer to the 3rd photo of the flaws)(A, B)
There are some other faults such as folding lines, so please check the figure and photos for details.
Though it has some faults, we hope you enjoy this tasteful vintage design!
