This is a tasteful Nagoya obi with kaiawase (ancient shell matching game), 'manmaku'(Japnaese outdoor curtain) and a blaze drum design, which is woven.
This piece is woven by Tatsumura, one of the most famous obi weaver in Kyoto Nishijin.
Gold and silver foils are woven in the design and gorgeously shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch..
The base has exotic decorative pattern, which is woven with pink foils.

Threads are frayed and cut on the right side of 'otaiko'(square bow).(A)
There are lots of peeling spots of foils on the base and along the edges.(First photo of flaws, B)
It has pin holes due to basting stitches.
It also has folding lines.
Please check photos and figure.

Although there are these flaws, please enjoy this gorgeous design!!

*Heizo Tatsumura*
The first generation Heizo Tatsumura is known for an authority of reconstruction of ancient fragment, and he raised his work created by the collection of the skill of the texture to the level of the art textile.
There are three weaving factories, 'Tatsumura Art Textile', 'Tatsumura Textile', 'Koho Tatsumura', inherited from the first Heizo.
They continue to research for the ancient fragment and inherited the tradition of weaving art creation based on it.
They have been producing original arts which are universally recognized.
