This is a Nagoya obi for summer with a waving stripe pattern, which is woven.
This piece is made by Kawashima Weaving Co., one of the most famous obi weavers.
The textile is transparent silk with silver foil threads, and has soft touch.
The 'tare-saki'(tare end) has three lines, and the wrong side of it has gunbai(referee's fan) pattern woven on it.(They are features of Kawashima Textiles Co.)

The folding lines are rather prominent, and they are in the 'otaiko'(the square bow) too.
For details, please check the figure and photos.

If you do not mind these faults, it still can be worn.
We hope you enjoy this stylish summer fashion!

description: Tanaka

*Kawashima Textiles Co.*

In 1843, company founder, Jimbei Kawashima, opened a fabrics store in Nishijin, Kyoto.
Now Kawashima has two ongoing businesses, traditional garments/textiles and interior products, such as curtains.
The three lines and Gunpai, referee's fan, emblem are the two significant marks of the brand.
The brand is famous because their products and design are elegant, detailed and sophisticated.
Their Hon Fukuro obi is especially highly evaluated for its comfortableness and evenness in thickness.
