This is a hon - Fukuro obi for summer with a wave pattern, which is woven.
This piece is made by Kawashima Weaving Co., one of the most famous obi weavers.
A wave pattern is woven with the silver foil threads on the transparent base, and it looks cool.
The textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
There are three lines and gunbai(referee's fan) mark, which is a mark of Kawashima Weaving Co., on the inside of the 'tare'(the wide end).
Kawashima Orimono logo is woven at one end.
Both ends are rather roughly sewn, which is not disturbing to wear.

The length is rather short, 412cm(162') long.

There are slight discoloration and yellow patches(patina) all over, and it looks well-worn.
Especially in the 'otaiko'(the square bow), the yellow patches(patina) are prominent.
The stains on the 'te-saki'(one end) are rather prominent, and are as large as a palm, and noticeable.
There is a 5cm(2.0in) x 5cm(2.0in) water stain on the lower part of the 'otaiko'(the square bow).
For details, please check the figure and photos.

Though not shown in the figures, the foil threads of the wave and the basket pattern are frayed and have dullness.
The edges have slight smudges.

Because of the faults in the 'otaiko'(the square bow), it might not be suitable to wear, but we hope you enjoy this elegant and cool design!

*Kawashima Textiles Co.*

In 1843, company founder, Jimbei Kawashima, opened a fabrics store in Nishijin, Kyoto.
Now Kawashima has two ongoing businesses, traditional garments/textiles and interior products, such as curtains.
The three lines and Gunpai, referee's fan, emblem are the two significant marks of the brand.
The brand is famous because their products and design are elegant, detailed and sophisticated.
Their Hon Fukuro obi is especially highly evaluated for its comfortableness and evenness in thickness.
