This is a graceful vintage Hon Fukuro obi with 'botan'(peony) and classical pattern on 'temari' (ball for girls) design, which is woven.
It is made by Tatsumura with brand name with 'Made By Heizo Tatsumura'(top brand)
Foil threads are shining gorgeously on the vivid design.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
It is woven silver foil threads on the base.
The length is rather short. 408cm(13ft 4.63in)
Both ends are rather roughly sewn.

There is another 'otaiko'(square bow) pattern which will be seen inside of 'otaiko' when you tie it.
It is so called "Ura-Taiko" (wrong side taiko).
It makes this obi very luxurious which can be seen just a little bit.
It is the obi which is outstanding from regular 'otaiko' pattern obi.

It has discoloration on the base due to its age, and has patinas.
It has a reddish stain that could be hidden when you tie it.
It also has some other flaws such as folding lines.

Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!

*Heizo Tatsumura*
The first generation Heizo Tatsumura is known for an authority of reconstruction of ancient fragment, and he raised his work created by the collection of the skill of the texture to the level of the art textile.
There are three weaving factories, 'Tatsumura Art Textile', 'Tatsumura Textile', 'Koho Tatsumura', inherited from the first Heizo.
They continue to research for the ancient fragment and inherited the tradition of weaving art creation based on it.
They have been producing original arts which are universally recognized.
