This is a graceful vintage Nagoya obi with Shibori(tie-dye) fabric, which is made of 'kiribame'(technique which cuts off some cloth, inserts in another cloth and constitutes a pattern or dyed).
The embroidery design of 'hana karakusa' (flower arabesque) is added to the silver glazing base,
Textile is silk and 'Jinken'(rayon) blend and has light touch.
The length is rather short. 336cm(11ft 0.28in)
'Maegara' (front patterned part) is on one side.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show.

It has loose threads caused by fray on 'kiribame'(technique which cuts off some cloth, inserts in another cloth and constitutes a pattern or dyed) fabrics of the wrong side of 'maegara' (front pattern on belly).
Although not shown on the figure, it has a tear of 2.5cm(0.98in) size.
The fabric of this area is getting weak and the tear will spread in the future.
(It has two to three tears.)
The flaw(B) is a crack part of gold glazing.
Although not shown on the figure, it has some peeling spots of silver glazing on 'otaiko'(square bow).
The figure shows that it has spots of mold on 'otaiko'(square bow), but actually they are whitish and tiny stains. (4th flaw photo)
It also has some other flaws such as seams and folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and figure.

This 'maegara' (front pattern on belly) can not use.
Please use solid side.
Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
