This is a 'zentsu'(fully patterned) Hon Fukuro obi by Orietsu with classical pattern of 'Matsu'(pine tree) and crane, which is woven.
Foiled threads woven in the pattern are gracefully shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Both ends are open and lining is not added inside.

It has no folding lines and seems to be untied.
The quite slight frays on the corners are not bothering.

One of the high end Obi weaver in Kyoto which was established in 1922.
Mr. Kikujiro Takao, the founder of Orietsu, named the trade
name after Kouetst Honami, an artist in 16th century, whom he adored, and a state of mind of the joy of being earnest with weaving textile.
Their high quality obi in characteristic colors, using
traditional pattern such as Rinpa and Shousouin, adopting
foreign pattern of the Middle East and Latin America, are not
only beautiful, but also very comfortable to wear which have
been receiving a high evaluation from all over the world.
