This is a vintage Maru obi with 'tsuzumi'(Japanese drum) and 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) on folding fan on shibori(tie-dye) horizontal stripe background, which is embroidered.
The dynamic design draw peoples attention.
Textile is exquisite relatively stiff silk.
It seems to be a remodeled obi from Maru obi which has seams on the both edges.
The pattern is designed up side down to be tied with hikinuki knot style.
The embroidery works are applied only on the necessary areas on one 'otaiko'(square bow) and 'maegara' (front pattern on belly).

There are loose stitches of gold foiled threads on kaikiri lines(end mark line) and 'otaiko'(square bow), embroidered threads on 'maegara' (front pattern on belly).
There are slight discoloration and patinas throughout.
There is a relatively large stain on lower 'otaiko'(square bow) which could be hidden when you tie it.(refer to the 4th flaws photo)
Although there is no photo of it, there are also stains around 'maegara' (front pattern on belly) which could be seen when you tie it.
There are some other flaws such as folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and figure.

Although it has some flaws due to its age, it is still very charming design which only vintage items have.
