This is a woodblock printed book of Bijin(beautiful women) from late 1800s.
It was drawn by Toshikata Mizuno (1866-1908), one of a popular Ukiyoe artists. He was a pupil of a great Ukiyoe artist in Edo period(1603-1867), Yoshitoshi Tsukioka(1839-1892). He got one of a kanji character from Yoshitoshi for his name.
Toshikata was born in Kanda, Tokyo, and became a well known Ukiyoe artist.
This book is a collection of beautiful women.
There are 6 pictures on both sides of pages (total 12 pictures together) published by a famous woodblock print company Daikokuya in Tokyo.
It has a nice store logo and description on the back which is written in English.

The book has not only elegant noble women, but also different types of women such as a farmer, ordinary citizens, mothers and girls from different period of times, Heian period (794-1185) through Edo period(1603-1867).
He also depicted details of the lifestyles of ancient Japan very well. The interior of rooms, scenery and their clothes are very interesting.

Due to its age, the covers is worn out.
The pages are getting separated.
However, the every image is in very good condition with original colors.
