This antique fukusa is from Meiji period(1868-1912), and made of thin chirimen(crepe) silk. It pattern is made of 'kiribame'(patchwork), and pine tree motif is dyed. Kanji character is 'kotobuki'(longevity) and clam shell and coral are both auspicious motifs. It has slight patinas in the white part, and there are some (approx 10) small holes in the right side(except red hem). Hems have small holes(more than 10) and the other side also has several holes( and one is large). However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
