This is a superb uchikake from Meiji period(1868-1912).
It has wonderful dyed and embroidery pattern all over it. Pine tree, bamboo, ume blossom are dyed and many parts are added embroidery, and all cranes and carps are heavily embroidered.

What an elaborate and thick embroidery it is!
We sometimes see this kind of uchikake, but this piece is special for its carp motif - usually this part's motif is tortoise.
It has slight yellowish dyestuffs in the background. There are other some slgiht flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
We highly recommend this supreme uchikake!
