This is an unique design fukusa from Meiji period(1868-1912). It has a bold kanji character 'kotobuki'(longevity) motif, which is elaborately hand embroidered. Its kin-koma technique is gorgeous and impressive on the beautiful pale sky shusu silk. Crane and tortoise are also hand embroidered. Unfortunately there are some slight or small stains mainly near the lower bottom. Brown embroidery stitches of tortoise are missing and coming off. But as a whole it is in very good condition.
