This is a vintage kappa, coat for travelers, from Tohoku district.
One side has fine and elegant weft ikat pattern, and another side has stripe pattern. Its weft ikat kasuri is thick and has very soft touch. It had to be hand woven in rural district.
Background color is beautiful natural ai color.
It has some small stains, and small frays near the lower hem, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
