This is a sakiori hanhaba obi. Sakiori is a traditional Japanese technique of rag weaving.The rag strips are cut finely and woven into a tweed-like fabric. This piece has colorful stripe pattern.
It has many tears mainly in the both ends ( middle part has several holes), but it is still very charming piece for its fantastic texture. |
