This is men's blue haori. Outside fabric is fine stripe pattern blue silk.
What a fantastic pattern it is !
We sometime come across samurai motif lining, but this piece is completely different from others and has artistic value.
Picture must be the scene from ending Edo period (1603-1867), and beyond the sight of standing samurai, he must seeing the coming new world - dawn of New Japan.
It has some stains and lining has patina.
But it is still very valuable piece for its fantastic pattern. |
