This is a vintage sakiori fabric from pre WWII.
Sakiori is a traditional Japanese technique of rag weaving.The rag strips are cut finely and woven into a tweed-like fabric. This piece has beautiful stripe pattern.
It is from Tohoku district. It has some slight stains, but as a whole it is in very good condition. |
