This is a vintage fukusa with exceptionally beautiful 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) pattern, which is dyed with yuzen technique. In the kaoike it has cherry blossom and noble people motif, and in the lids they have tortoise and crane motif. Its pattern is very very unique and artistic. Many parts are added embroidery. Please check the elaborate hand work with more photos.
It has some very slight stains in the both sides, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
We highly recommend this supreme fukusa.
