This is a vintage noragi(farmer's work jacket) from Tohoku district. It is made of multiple cotton textile, and sashiko stitiches were done all over it ( except sleeves). This piece is very unique for its white/blue check pattern in the back. Check pattern is dyed, and textile is sewn with the lining cotton, and white sashiko stitches are done on the textile. Its white shashiko technique is called 'shiro-zashi' ( 'shiro' means white ). This noragi has very tasteful atmosphere for its shiro-zashi part. Shiro zashi is very rare, and we seldom came across it. It has some stains, and a pin hole, but as a whole it is in very good condition. We highly recommend this rare shiroziashi-noragi. *back width 58cm 22 3/4" |
