This is a vintage 'noragi'(farmer's jacket) from Tohoku district. It is made of thick cotton, and 'sashiko'(stitch) is done all over it. 'Sashiko' is the unique stitches technique in Tohoku district. It was done to strengthen the fabric, and hold warmth.
This piece is fully discolored, and has many stains and tears. But it is still valuable piece for its textile and technique.
It will be an unique interior display, which reminds us the severe farmer's life and love of their wives.
