This is a vintage noragi( work jacket for farmers) from pre WWII. It is considered to be from Tohoku district. It is made with 'sakiori' technique. Sakiori is a traditional Japanese technique of rag weaving. The rag strips are cut finely and woven into a tweed-like fabric. Most sakiori fabrics of this piece seems to be indigo dyed cotton, and has very beautiful color and rough touch. Lapel has some tears, but as a whole it is in very good condition. We highly recommend this beautiful sakiori noragi. * back width 62cm 24 1/2" |
