This is a vintage working wear for farmer in Shonai Tohoku district. The fabric is cotton, and dyed with indigo. ALl over the fabric cotton stitiches are umbroidered, and this technique is called ' sashiko ' . This beautiful stitches were embroidered one stitch by one stitch, by the wife of the farmer maybe during the agricultural off-season to reinforce the fabric, and also wigive the fabric thermals.
