This is a Fukuro obi with an adorable princess design by Toku Yusui, who is the most famous Kaga Yuzen dyers, which is woven.
This piece was woven in Nishijin, Kyoto by Nagashima, one of the famous weaver in Nishijin.
It has a design of impressive scene of Jo-ruri(Japanese ballad drama).

Gold foiled threads are woven on its background and they are beautifully and luxuriously shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft and smooth touch.
There is Toku Yusui's stamp on the Tare end.

It has no folding lines, and it seems to be untied one.
Stains on Maegara(the front design) are actually tiny peeling spots.
(cannot be seen when you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise).)
Though it has some flaws, it is in a very good condition.

First generation Toku Yusui is the most famous Kaga Yuzen dyer. In addition, he got involved in the history of Kaga Yuzen.
Adorable children are often designed in his pieces.
Realistic flowers are mainly dyed in Kaga Yuzen pieces, but he likes dyeing people design, which is considered the most difficult theme to express.
His original designs which themes are children attract many people.
He exerted various talents not only Kimono world but also Kabuki, mural decoration and framed.
Second generation Toku Yusui succeeds to first generation, his father's style.
His genius techniques of expression and description of characters get a high evaluation throughout the ages.
