This is a tasteful Nagoya obi with fringed orchid design, which is dyed.
This piece is designed by Tokio Hata, a living national treasure, famous for his Yuzen technique.
The wormhole is added to the fine Yuzen design.
The realistic design is attractive.
Textile is chirimen (crepe) silk and has soft and textured touch.
There is a dyer's signature on bottom of 'otaiko'(square bow).

It has slight discoloration on the base allover, that is not so disturbing.
It also has some other flaws such as slight folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and figure.

Though it has some flaws, it is still wearable enough.
Please enjoy its tasteful fashion!

*Tokio Hata*
The late Hata Tokio is a holder of the important intangible cultural asset of Yuzen and also the living national treasure.
He studied about Yuzen of Kaga and Kyo, and created his original Hata-Yuzen.
He mainly dyed beauties of nature.
Mandarin ducks are the signature motifs of his work.
He dyed the tapestry of the Tourou-yama float of the Gion festival, and the Furisode kimono for the late Princess Diana. His work has been appreciated not only in Japan, but also in the world.
Although we can't see his new work anymore, his eldest son, Noboru and his granddaughter, Toki, are also freehand drawing Yuzen dyer. The Hata-Yuzen is still inherited.
