This is a graceful Fukuro obi with 'Tsuru' (crane) and 'botan'(peony) on fan and wave design, which is woven and dyed.
It is designed by Mitsumasa Wada, one of the traditional craftsmen in Japan.
He is known for his distinctive design of gold used in pattern.
A lot of gold glazing on the design has tasteful atmosphere.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
There is a dyer's signature on upper 'tare'(wide end).
Maegara pattern is different on each side.

It has lines of flaw caused by fray on the gold glazing, and they will appear when tied on 'otaiko'(square bow).(A)
(The flaw photo shows that the flaws are blackish, but actually they are deep gold color.)
It has a (A) like flaw on the wrong side of 'maegara' (front pattern on belly)(B), However, when you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), it will be hidden.
For the details, please refer to the photos and figure.

Though it has some flaws, it is still wearable enough.
Please enjoy its graceful design!
