This is a graceful vintage Maru obi
with a design such as phoenix, hand drum, butterfly and aoi on gold fan, which is elaborately embroidered allover.
It also has elaborate embroidery work of bamboo and vibrant seasonal flowers such as 'Sakura'(cherry blossom) and 'Tachibana' (Japanese green citrus).
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
It has kaikiri lines(end mark line) on both ends, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
The tare end and tesaki are slightly unpicked to confirm the weaving company.
It has woven three lines, but has no gunpai-mark(referee's fan) mark.
So it is not sure woven by Kawashima Weaving Co, but it is a great piece.
It has discoloration, patinas ane a few stains on its base by ages.
It has some other flaws such as folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and figure.
Though it has some flaws by age, it is in very good condition overall.
Please enjoy this elegant and dynamic design from Japanese classical motif.
