This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with a design of large 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) and 'botan'(peony), which is embroidered vibrantly.
Gold foil threads woven in the design are elegantly shining.
Textile is glossy shusu(satin) silk and has soft touch.
Maegara(front design) is only one side.
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), designed side of maegara will show.
Its length is rather short, 130.7in(332cm).
Although not shown on the figure, corners of tare end and tesaki(narrow end) are also frayed.
Besides it has stains on the tesaki, so please check photos for details.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, there is a slight brownish stain just upper the design of otaiko.
Embroidered design of maegara(front patterned part) is a little frayed.
There is a seam on the wrong side of triangle part.
However, it is in very good conditions as a vintage.
Please enjoy its gorgeous embroidered design!
