This is a Maru obi
with large lobster on bamboo grass design.
Lobster is a symbol of longevity, it means to live long until you are bent.
It has been embroidered elaborately but its dynamic design is so eye-catching!
Textile is silk and has soft touch, it is rather thick.
The pattern is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
Maegara(front design) is only one side.
So if you start wrapping from your right tummy to left(rotate obi counterclockwise), it will show.
Discoloration is seen overall and especially white design parts are little noticeable.
Also it has folding lines and so on.
For the detail, please check figures and photos.
Though it has some flaws, it still can be tied.
Please enjoy its gorgeous embroidered design of vintage at your hands!
