This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with flower design of such as 'Botan'(peony), 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) and 'Tsubaki' (camellia) on 'Tsuzumi'(Japanese hand drum), which is embroidered.
The fine embroidery work has three-dimensional glossy beauty.
The vibrant pattern emerges out against the black background.
Textile is glossy shusu(satin) silk and has soft touch.
The design position of otaiko(square bow) and 'Maegara' (front patterned part) is a little slipping off, but the design will appear if tied adjusted.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, it has a seam on 4.72in(12cm) on the wrong side of tare end, and a tiny tear (about 0.2in=5mm ) on 11.02in(28cm) from the tare end on the left edge of the wrong side.
It has many silver foil peeling spots on otaiko(square bow) and they are noticeable.
The tiny patinas on the pattern and thread scuff by fray are not so bothering. (indicated as tear/refer to the 3rd flaws photo)
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
It may not have enough strength to be worn.
Please enjoy the cute classical taste of Japanese vintage via this item.
