This is an elegant Kurotomesode
Kimono with a design of fan, 'shou-chiku-bai' (auspicious three motifs - pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom) and seasonal flowers on waterfall, which is dyed.
The vibrant design emerges out against the black background.
Embroidery work is added to the main parts.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Hiyoku (additional layer) is attached.
It has five dyed kamons(family crest).
Wear on the collar and smudges on the cuffs are prominent.
There are noticeable patinas on the white design parts.
Please check photos for details.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, prominent discoloration can be seen on the base and hiyoku.
Especially mid of back bodice and sides seams are bothering.
It seems to be difficult to wear at formal occasions due to the discoloration.
However, we hope you enjoy its graceful design as a handicraft material!
