This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with a design of large pine cone and 'seigaiha'(wave) on 'matsukawa-bishi'(pine bark diamond), which is woven.
Silver foil threads woven in the design are gorgeously shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft and smooth touch.
Its length is rather short, 132.7in(337cm).
The stain on otaiko is small but prominent.(B)
Weft yarns are missing by fray, but they can be hidden when tied.(A)
The stains(C) are large and noticeable, but they can be hidden when tied.
The flaws indicated as stitch is coming loose are actually weaving flaws.
There are prominent frays throughout both edges.
It has some other flaws such as rather noticeable discoloration, tiny patinas and folding lines.
Please check photos for details.
Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
