This is a vintage Maru obi
with dragon circle on wave pattern, which is dynamically woven.
Gold foil threads woven in the pattern are gorgeously shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has light touch.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
The flaw(B) is not a flaw but a seam.
There is a small stain on the kaikiri(end mark) line.
Foil threads upper otaiko are missing and frayed partly.(indicated as peeling spot)
Foil threads near tesaki(narrow end) are missing along a folding line.(A)
There are some other flaws so please check photos for details.
Unfortunately, it is no longer wearable due to the weaken fabric.
However, we hope you enjoy its impressive vintage pattern as a handicraft material!
