This is a vintage Maru obi
with 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) and houou(phoenix) pattern, which is woven.
Gold foil threads woven in the pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
It has patinas on the base by ages.
Although not shown on the figure, it has slight discoloration.
May be, this piece was tied in fancy bow, folding lines are remained till tare end.
There are some other flaws so please check photos for details.
Unfortunately, it is no longer wearable due to the weaken fabric.
However, we hope you enjoy its zestful vintage pattern as a handicraft material!
