This is a vintage Maru obi
with 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) and bamboo fence by stream design, which is dyed.
Fine embroidery work of 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) design is added on the main parts.
'kinkoma'(golden outlining embroidery work) is added on the stream design and kaikiri lines(end mark line).
Textile is exquisite silk, and has soft touch.
The length is rather short.155.91in(396cm)
'Maegara' (front patterned part) is on one side.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show in case the tare design is on the right side.
But the stain on the tare will appear.(B)
If the other side comes on the right side, Maegara will show when you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise).
The loosen stitches of kaikiri lines(end mark line) will be hidden, but the stain on otaiko(square bow) will appear. (refer to the 5th flaws photo)
It has some other flaws such as slight discoloration, patinas and snags on both sides.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, it has a few whitish lines like smudges in places.
Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy this vintage taste.
