How WONDERFUL this design is!!
This is a supreme Irotomesode
Kimono made by Hikotaro Noguchi the 3rd generation of Daihiko, one of the leading dyeing companies in Japan.
It has a fabulous lakeside scenery design of castle, trees and 'shakunage'(rhododendron), which is dyed.
Fine embroidery work is added to the design.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The collar is Hiro-eri(unfolded) and it has a dyed kamon(family crest).
There is a stamp of the designer's signature on the tip of right collar.
It is sewn by Takashimaya, one of the famous Japanese department store.
A leaflet about this craftsman(Hitotaro Noguchi) comes with the kimono. (It says the kimono's price is 2,500,000 Japanese yen.)
As the figure shown, it has patinas in places, but they are not so prominent.
Discoloration can be seen overall, especially right sleeve and back left bodice are disturbing.
There are other flaws such as smudges on the cuffs and sides seams.
Please check detail photos.
If the discoloration do not bother you, it could be still worn.
Please enjoy its beautiful fashion!
