This is an impressive vintage Maru obi
with powerful kara-jishi(lion) pattern, which is woven.
Gold and silver foil threads woven in the pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Its length is rather short, 12'10"3/8(392cm).
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, folding lines are remained from tesaki(narrow end) to tare end.
Some woven threads of the edges are missing by fray.
Also, the fabric is getting weak a little.
Discoloration and patinas can be seen overall.
There are other flaws so please check detail photos.
Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
