This is a tasteful Tsumugi Fukuro obi
with a design of 'karabana'(imaginary flower in China) and houou(phoenix) on 'kiredori'(overlapping fabric scraps), which is embroidered.
Drawn work (one of the techniques of removing thread partly to make a ground textile seen through) and gold glazing are added on the design.
Textile is Tsumugi
silk and has soft touch with rustic atmosphere.
Brown color lining is added and it can be seen from transparent embroidered parts.
There are frayed parts on the corner of tare end and 'tesaki'(narrow end).
The mold on otaiko may be hidden when tied.
Besides, it has folding lines.
Please check detail photos.
*It has a bit of mold smell.
However, it still can be tied!
Please enjoy its elegant fashion!
