This is a gorgeous vintage Maru obi
with a pattern such as large 'kiku'(chrysanthemum), 'botan' (peony) and 'ume'(Japanese plum), which is woven.
Gold and silver foil threads woven in the pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, the woven threads on both edges of tare end and 'tesaki'(narrow end) are missing by fray.
Rather prominent folding lines are remained till tare end. (3rd flaw photo)
There are other flaws such as discoloration overall by ages and stains.
Please check detail photos.
Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
