This is a vibrant vintage Nagoya obi
with a 'botan' (peony) 'karakusa'(arabesque) motif, which is embroidered.
'Kinkoma'(golden outlining embroidery work) is added on the design.
Textile is glossy silk with woven classical pattern, and has soft touch.
The obi has one side designed at the front part when it is tied.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), designed side of Maegara will show.
Its length is rather short, 10'1"5/8(309cm).
There are frayed parts on the corner of tare end.
It has smudges from tare end to triangle part.
Patinas can be seen on embroidered part of otaiko.
The embroidery threads of maegara(front patterned part) are coming loose.
There are stains on both sides of maegara.
There are other flaws such as a hole.
Please check detail photos.
It seems to be not suitable to wear due to the loosing stitches.
However, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
