This is an impressive vintage Maru obi
with a design of powerful shishi(lion), which is embroidered finely.
It also has dyed and embroidered gosho-doki(palace, fan, and seasonal flowers motifs) design on wrong side.
Silver foil threads woven on the background are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), designed side of Maegara will show.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
*The background color may seem irregular on photos, but it is actually one tone of color as seen in HTML code.
It has discoloration overall, and as the figure shown, rather prominent discoloration can be seen in places. (5th flaw photo)
There are other flaws such as folding lines and slight stains(6th flaw photo).
Please check detail photos.
Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
