This is a vintage Tsume tsuzure Fukuro obi
with eye-catching 'Marumon' (circle) of flowers and facing birds pattern, which is woven Tsume tsuzure
One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed. It has special kind of comfortable and medium touch of Tsume tsuzure
Textile is soft silk.
Both ends are closed, but there is no lining inside.
There are whitish spots of mold on Maegara, and they are noticeable.
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), clean side of Maegara will show.
Stains above Otaiko pattern should not show when tied. (second photo below the drawing image)
Discoloration on Maegara (sorry no photos) may or may not show depending on how you tie.
It has some other flaws, such as folding lines(sixth photo below the drawing image) and discoloration on the wrong side, as shown on photos.
Please see photos for details.
Although it seems well worn, it still is a very lovely tsuzure obi to own.
