This is a tasteful vintage Maru obi
with 'shou-chiku-bai' (auspicious three motifs - pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom) on 'kiredori'(overlapping fabric scraps) pattern, which is woven.
Gold foil threads woven in the pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, the threads throughout both edges are missing by fray.
It has discoloration(4th flaw photo) and patinas(3rd flaw photo) overall by ages.
There are other flaws such as stains(5th flaw photo), a snag(8th flaw photo) and a folding line.
Please check detail photos.
Unfortunately, it is no longer wearable due to the fabric is getting weak.
However, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
