This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with a design of such as 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum), butterfly and 'asanoha'(hemp leaf) on shell, which is embroidered.
The embroidered design has three-dimensional glossy beauty.
Textile is glossy 'Shusu'(satin) silk, and has smooth touch.
Maegara is only on one side, and when you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, it has frays allover the wrong side, and especially the ones on the tare edge of the wrong side are noticeable.
(as indicated red lines/no photos)
It also has discoloration on otaiko(square bow) and embroidery part of 'Maegara' (front patterned part).
It has some other flaws such as folding lines and a seam.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Unfortunately, it is no longer wearable due to the weaken fabric.
Please enjoy this retro and charming design.
