This is a glamorous vintage Maru obi
with 'Karabana' (imaginary flower in China), arabesque, 'shippou-tsunagi'(jointed four circles), 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) dragon and 'Housouge'(imaginary Chinese flower) pattern, which is dyed.
The vibrant pattern emerges out against the sedate colored background.
Textile is exquisite silk and has smooth touch.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down to be tied with hikinuki style.
It has discoloration overall by ages.(9th flaw photo)
The stitches of gold threads are largely coming loose on the kaikiri lines(end mark line).
Though indicated fray near the circle mark on the sheet, it is actually a tear.(refer to the 3rd flaws photo)
It has some tears on the tare end.
It has some other flaws such as tiny patinas (refer to the 7th flaws photo) and folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Unfortunately, it is no longer wearable due to the weaken fabric.
Please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
