This is an impressive vintage Maru obi
with a pattern such as houou(phoenix), 'matsu'(pine tree) and 'botan' (peony), which is woven on ivory background.
Gold foil threads woven on the pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
Its length is rather short, 12'8"3/4(388cm).
There are frayed part on the corner of tare end and 'tesaki'(narrow end).
It has slight discoloration overall, especially, rather prominent discoloration can be seen on tare end and near maegara(front patterned part).
Besides, it has a stain on wrong side and a slight folding line.
Please check detail photos.
It seems to be not suitable to wear due to the fabric is getting weak.
However, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
