This is a gorgeous Fukuro obi
with elegant 'Karabana' (imaginary flower in China) pattern, which is dyed and elaborately embroidered with Sagara and 'kinkoma'(golden outlining embroidery work) embroidery technique.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
It has relatively prominent folding lines.
It seems to be tied as the width of 'Maegara' (front patterned part) comes wide.
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), the folding lines will show.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), the folding lines will be hidden.
It has frays on otaiko(square bow) and the pattern is a little getting thin.
