This is a lovely vintage Nagoya obi
with a design of such as 'Sakura'(cherry blossom) and kaede (maple leaf) on shell matching, which is dyed and embroidered.
The fine embroidery works has three dimensional glossy beauty.
Textile is relatively stiff and jinken (rayon) blend with woven hazy mist pattern.
There is a weaver's mark on the tare end.
There is only one 'maegara' (front patterned part) which will be shown when you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise).
The stitches of 'kinkoma'(golden outlining embroidery work) are coming loose in many places on the tare end otaiko(square bow).
It has prominent discoloration and stains overall.
It has frays and smudges throughout the edges and tears in places.
It has some other flaws such as folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and sheet.
Unfortunately, it is no longer in wearable condition due to the weaken fabric.
However, it is still charming design which we would like you to enjoy.
