This is a vibrant vintage Maru obi
with flowers such as hollyhock and 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) in circle pattern, which is woven.
This piece was woven by Kawashima Weaving Co., one of the most famous obi weavers.
You can see the three lines and 'gunpai'(referee's fan) mark.
Its large and vibrant pattern against the ivory colored base is impressive.
Textile is exquisite, soft silk.
*The background color may seem irregular on photos, but it is actually one tone of color as seen in HTML code.
It has slight discoloration and patinas on both sides.
It has smudges on both all edges.
It has tiny snags on 'maegara' (front pattern on belly), but when you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right (Rotate obi clockwise), they can be hidden.
There are some other flaws such as rather prominent folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Although there are such flaws by ages, please enjoy its charming and bold design which only vintage items have.
