This is a Fukuro obi
with elegant Paeoniae radix and 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) pattern, which is dyed.
Touch of pigment on the pattern is lovely.
Silver foil threads included in fabric twinkle gently.
Textile is silk, and it has soft touch.
Both ends are closed, but there is no lining inside.
There is a signature of the dyer above Tare end.
Prominent stains on Tare end will not show when tied.
Fine patinas are on Maegara and Otaiko pattern. (sorry no photos)
Patinas are light and not disturbing.
It has some other flaws, such as prominent smudge on both edges and folding lines, as shown on photos.
Please see photos for details.
Due to its condition, it may be unsuitable as a formal garment, however, it still is a charming piece for its lovely design!
